The Art of Correction

'Stand up, Judith, and listen to me. You must be aware that I do not encourage sexual liaisons among my staff, for reasons that are well illustrated by recent events. So I ask you now: do you acknowledge your fault?'
'I was hasty; I didn't think she would walk out. Miss James, I didn't consider the consequences, and I'm very sorry.'
'That is not good enough, I'm afraid. You will assume the position.'

The fourth instalment of Tara Black's series of novels chronicling the kinky activities of Judith Wilson and the Nemesis Archive, a global network of Sapphic corporal punishment lovers dedicated to chronicling the history of perverse female desire.

'Oh. I didn't hear you coming. I, er, finished all the correspondence half an hour ago.' She picked up a piece of mail and held it out. 'I'm sorry, this was here this morning, but it got into the wrong pile. I have only just found it.' Judith looked at the slightly flushed face: who was she to worry if a secretary had her noise in a novel when the day's hard had been done. Now Miss James, on the other hand. She had better deliver a word of warning next week.
'OK, no problem. I look at it later. See ya Monday.' Judith took the black leather jacket from its peg by the lift and eased it on, tucking the letter into an inside pocket. Out in the quad a chill wind was blowing from the east so she zipped the collar up snug around her neck and set off at a brisk pace towards the station.

This is from an extract with Sandra's thoughts as she is reading another book,

Miss Carter is the new mistress of the first one I read, and she features a lot in the second. What a character- half the girls have total crushes on her and so do I! She always has a smile and a word of encouragement. But of course she's firm too, though completely fair. When Sally - she's in the fifth - makes a cruel joke by typing a fat girl's shoelaces together Miss C is so cross. And Sally's just devastated to be out of favour, but then decides to go after class to the office in the back of the gym and make a proper apology. Her best fried waits for her and she comes out - after quite a time - she is walking a bit funny and her face is flushed but she's looking really happy again.

Story Overview

If you can get the story please let me know, the book goes off on that many tangents that I have lost the plot completely and I will be honest, this is suppose to be the fourth book in a series, and I am glad I haven't come across the first three books. The book is divided into so many sections, and you can't gauge the plot, for example the take the two extracts from the book that are above, the first one is about Judith, who is the character who you are suppose to be following.

The next is of Sandra, who is a temp in the office, and is reading a book, however we are going into details of the book she is reading which takes the plot off in a new direction which isn't needed, and to be quite honest boring.

Summary

I haven't read any other books by Tara Black, however I feel this book does not do her any favours at all. It certainly doesn't encourage me, to go and find out the books in this series. I will be fair on Tara; I will try to look for a book that isn't in this series, that is a story in its own right, and see I can change my view. This is my own personal view point, however I don't think much of this book at all and I wouldn't recommend it to my friends.
